Did Your Puppy

Get to Be a Dog Today?

Think of PuppyPALS as a delightful (and much-needed) twice-weekly trip back to Planet Dog for young puppies who are doing their best to adjust to Planet Human. Here in our outdoor, wooded setting, puppies get to fully engage in what comes naturally, like:

Pouncing * Digging * Wrestling * Scenting

Chasing * Foraging * Climbing * Chewing

Perching * Mouthing * Rolling

Even better, they get to opt into all of these highly appropriate, genetically driven behaviors with other dogs they come to know and trust: Fellow puppies who also adore bite-wrestle games; and my stable, experienced older dogs who set an example. With skilled supervision every moment — (that's me, obsessively committed to each dog having a great experience under my watch) — true bonds form and confidence grows dramatically.  Watch this video from a recent session!

Every year the science gets stronger on the critical importance of two things for our dogs' welfare (and therefore behavior):

  1. Being able to engage in a wide range of natural canine behaviors. (Want to learn more? Start here.)

  2. Getting to process this world with a small group of trusted fellow canines. (See the research here.)

PuppyPALS hits both of those challenging goals beautifully, which predicts wonderful things for your puppy's development.

As for human upsides, I have a decade's worth of clients who swear PuppyPALS saved their sanity during puppyhood. After a morning here, puppies come home deeply, truly satisfied. They're much more ready to learn about those silly human rules like no jumping on grandma and no chewing the couch after they've had ample opportunity to jump on their friend Luna and chew on a stick with Max. Even better, the benefits from this positive socialization at a critical time in puppyhood carry on forever. Plus, the bonds formed in these early months often turn into whole-family friendships, as owners trade off hosting joyful playdates forever. See my substack for why I think that's a way bigger deal than it sounds!
